The Peterborough AIDS Resource Network (PARN) is a community based agency providing support and health promotion for people HIV-infected and HIV-affected. PARN provides education for people at risk for HIV, and awareness of AIDS issues to the broader community.
Trent Queer Collective (TQC) is a group dedicated to building and strengthening an active Queer Community at Trent University and in the Peterborough area. We provide safe spaces, resources, and social opportunities for MGSRI (Marginalized Gender/Sexuality/Romantic Identities) individuals.
PFLAG (Parents, Families, & Friends of Lesbians & Gays) Peterborough provides support, education, and resources on issues of sexual orientation and gender identity for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirited, intersex, queer, and questioning persons and their families and friends.
Trent University's Positive Space Program seeks to identify and encourage the development of positive spaces throughout Trent University. This includes increasing the visibility of LGBTQ people, issues, and communities; providing support and resources concerning LGBTQ issues; and to strengthen the LGBTQ and ally communities on our campuses and in the surrounding communities. The program offers Positive Space training at multiple locations in the Peterborough and Durham regions.
Gender Journeys at the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Haliburton-Kawartha-Pine Ridge (HKPR) offers a variety of Transgender Services & Support. These include many groups for both transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, as well as support groups for partners, friends, parents, and family; drop-ins and peer support in Peterborough, Cobourg, and Lindsay; events; and links and resources.
