October PSI Updates

What a busy month it has been! For October, PSI has been busy traveling, delivering workshops and engaging service providers and community members in dialogues on creating welcoming and inclusive spaces for LGBTQ + newcomer clients to be able to access culturally appropriate services with dignity and respect as well as staff to be able to work free from discrimination, harrassment and violence. We delivered a total of 8 workshop sessions - including a 2- day PD Conference in London, Ontario as well as 3 workshops for students of Social Service Worker Program at Seneca College. We were really excited to talk to these future service providers about the importance of positive spaces! Thank you for inviting us!

Our PD Conference in London, Ontario titled "Welcoming and Inclusive Communities: Making your agencies a positive and accessible space" was a success! It brought together OCASI's Accessibility Project and PSI workshops to bring attention on intersectionalities and multiple identities. Service providers, ED's, managers and community members attended the 2-day conference hosted by the London Cross Cultural Learner Centre. We had so much positive feedback. Everyone was so inspired and motivated to bring their learning to their agencies and communities to address equity and inclusion. Special thanks to Joseph for helping us organize the event!

We also went to the 2012 OCASI ED Forum where we had a table full of PSI bookmarks, stickers, postcards and other resources. We were so happy and glad to connect with Executive Directors from agencies and organizations across Ontario and talked to them about PSI. Thank you for stopping by our table everyone!
