When you visit Positive Spaces your privacy is important to us. This page discusses OCASI’s (the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants) policies on privacy for Positive Spaces.

General Privacy Statement

OCASI does not collect your personal information. If you volunteer personal information, like an email address, OCASI will not share it with any outside organization or Web site (including government agencies related to the funding of PSI).

Specific Examples:

  • Submitting Comments or Questions
    When you comment on an article, you are asked for your email address. You will be sent an email to validate your account, to make sure you are a real person (not spam). OCASI does not give away or sell your email address. We will post and answer your questions in the related articles, if we believe that the information would help other newcomers. We will remove any personal information before posting.
  • "Cookies" - Statistics
    A cookie is a small text file with a unique identification number that is transferred from a website to the hard drive of your computer. It is used by the website to identify separate visitors to the site and track users' activities on the Web site. A cookie does not collect any of your personal information, like your real name and address. OCASI uses cookies only to keep track of how many people visit PSI and where they go on the site. Your individual movement cannot be tracked while on the site. Our only interest here is to be able to improve the quality of the site by identifying which parts of the site are not being visited.
  • Linked Web sites
    OCASI does not review the privacy policies of other web sites or publications that link to PSI OCASI's privacy policies described here do not apply to other websites.
  • Security
    We have security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information you provide.
